Columbus police arrested a local woman on a possession-of-heroin charge after an apparent overdose.
Officer Maren Crabtree was sent to a home in the 2000 block of Indiana Avenue at 6:55 p.m. Thursday and found Amy M. Lackey, 33, of 2021 Indiana Ave., unresponsive and not breathing, said officer Alyson Rech, Columbus Police Department spokeswoman.
Crabtree gave two doses of naloxone to Lackey, who was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, Rech said.
Officers found a burned spoon, a small amount of heroin and several syringes in the home, she said.
After Lackey was discharged from the hospital, she was arrested on preliminary charges of felony possession of heroin, felony possession of a legend drug-injection device and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, Rech said.
Lackey is being held at the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $117,500 bond, jail officials said.
