Columbus East 8th in Columbus North band invitational

The Columbus East High School Olympian Spirit marching band finished in 8th place among 15 bands that competed Saturday during a band invitational at Columbus North High School.

Columbus North hosted the Sound of North Mid States Invitational that drew 1,500 band students and 5,000 people in all, said Bill Stultz, North High School director of bands.

As host, the Sound of North band participated in an exhibition.

Rising Sun High School, 1st in class, 12th overall

North Putnam High School, 2nd in class, 14th overall

Southwestern High School, 3rd in class, 15th overall

Class AA

Monrovia High School, 1st in class, 9th overall

Terre Haute North High School, 2nd in class, 10th overall

Connersville High School, 3rd in class, 11th overall

Class AAA

Scottsburg High School, 1st in class, 4th overall

New Palestine High School, 2nd in class, 5th overall

Franklin Community High School, 3rd in class, 6th overall
