The winners of this year’s Jennings County scarecrow contest have been named. They were:
- First place: Jennings County High School’s special needs class for its creation of a Captain America scarecrow
- Second place: the O’Mara company’s man-at-work scarecrow
- Third place: the elaborate Halloween display at Herbal Solutions in Vernon
Many additional scarecrows remain on display across the county.
“Not everyone who made a scarecrow was interested in competing in the contest, but they made scarecrow displays just for fun,” Jennings County Tourism Director Judith Ross said.
All scarecrows are encouraged to remain on display until Nov. 5.
