Kutters, Monsters of Rock post shutouts

Kutters, Monsters win

CCA Kutters and Monsters of Rock improved to 2-0 with shutout wins in the Columbus Broomball League Kutters beat Yoopers 3-0. Lindsay Morgeson scored two goals, and Scott Herron had the other. Monsters of Rock blanked Our Name Is Earl 4-0. Rob Jones, Ben Eckhard, Zach Henderson and Kyle Roshak all netted goals.

Slappin’ Balls edged Wicked Sisters 3-2 behind two goals from Nick Hill and one from Darien Castetter. Becca Reutell scored both goals for Wicked Sisters.

Flying Zambonis and Toyota Tsunamis played to a 4-4 tie. Ricky Hooten had three goals, and Todd Houchin added one for Zambonis. Matt Street scored two goals, and Yuri Motamedi and Greg McNealy each had one for Tsunamis.

Hockey

Iceman fall twice

The Columbus Icemen dropped a pair of games last weekend, falling to Bloomington 2-1 and at Zionsville 7-1.

Matt Jordan scored the Icemen’s goal against Bloomington off an assist from Cole Grady. Evan Kunzman recorded 38 saves. Andrew Roese netted the goal against Zionsville off an assist from Jordan. Cam Stattenfield played 35½ minutes in goal and posted 22 saves, and Evan Kunzman played 15½ minutes and had one save.

BASKETball

Fodrea girls post upset

The CSA Fodrea girls edged defending Elementary Basketball League Tournament champion Southside 31-30 in the first week of games.

In other girls action, Richards beat Rockcreek 35-21, Parkside downed Clifty Creek 34-12, Smith topped CSA Lincoln 56-31 and Schmitt handled Taylorsville 53-28.

On the boys side, Southside beat CSA Fodrea 44-24, Richards downed Rockcreek 35-21, Parkside stopped Clifty Creek 43-18, Smith beat CSA Lincoln 37-17 and Schmitt topped Taylorsville 28-24.

Bowler rolls 266 game

Jarod Garrett (266) and Bonnie Roberts (204) posted the men’s and women’s high games in the Wednesday Night Mixed League.

Rickie Wilson Jr. (708) and Tonya Hiday (528) had the men’s and women’s high series. Bush’s Market recorded the team high game (961) and series (2,736), and Old Time Flea Market leads the team standings at 45-27.
