Bailey Hester, Columbus North senior basketball player.

Hester scored 26 points against Indianapolis Lighthouse in the Bull Dogs’ third game of the Noblesville Tournament.

His performance last week: “I thought I did pretty well. We ran our motion really well, so that opens up a lot for our shooters. I just happened to be on that game.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I don’t have any crazy routines or anything. I just have some light stretching and before every game we pray.”

Favorite drink: “Arnold Palmer”

Favorite food: “Barbecue wings”

Favorite book: “It” (by Stephen King)

Favorite class: “English”

Role model: “My dad (Jeff Hester).”

Best advice: “When you’re in a game and things aren’t going your way, you can control your effort and your attitude.”

Athletics goal: “Probably to win sectional, that would be pretty cool. I’m undecided about college, maybe play in college for a year or two.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Paris, France, because of all of the movies I’ve seen; it just looks like a really cool place.”

Adi Minor, Columbus East senior gymnast

Minor won all four events and the all-around competition in the Olympians’ season opener against Seymour.

Her performance last week: “It was really good for our first meet. Everyone did really well. Overall it was a really good first performance for everybody. I was pretty nervous, but I got all of the jitters out.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Before the meets we all just hang out in the locker room and I make sure to get a good stretch in.”

Favorite drink: “Lemonade”

Favorite food: “Mac-n-Cheese”

Favorite book: “The Harry Potter series” (by J.K. Rowling)

Favorite class: “Weights class”

Role model: “My brother (Jeremy Minor)”

Best advice: “Do your best in anything that you do. Always give your all and in the end you’ll get what you put in.”

Athletics goal: “This year to win state all-around. It’s going to be the fourth and final year and I haven’t done it yet, so I’m really hoping for that. For the team, to place top three at state and for us to win sectional and regional.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Amsterdam, it seems really cool.”
