RISING SUN — Class A No. 7 Hauser escaped with a 3-1 win against North Decatur Wednesday to advance to the finals of the Rising Sun Sectional.

The Chargers had runners on second and third with one out in the seventh, but the Jets got out of the jam to preserve the win.

Hauser (19-5) will meet Jac-Cen-Del in the final at 6 p.m. today.

Eagles blank Cougars

RISING SUN — Morgen Carroll threw a no-hitter to lead Jac-Cen-Del to a 4-0 win against South Decatur in the second semifinal at Rising Sun.

Claire Wullenweber threw a four-hitter for the Cougars (4-15), who had lost to the Eagles 21-4 in the regular season.

Musatangs outs Eagles

ELLETTSVILLE — Brown County outhit Edgewood 8-6, but the host Mustangs claimed a 6-2 victory in the semifinals of the Edgewood Sectional.

Emma Summers struck out eight and allowed only two earned runs for the Eagles (16-4). Allison Stogsdill went 2 for 4 with a triple, and Sara Fishel went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.

Saints outlast Lancers

MORRISTOWN — Edinburgh scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to force extra innings, but Indianapolis Lutheran plated three runs in the ninth to pull out a 7-4 win in the first round of the Class A Morristown Sectional.

Zach Giles had a triple, and Coltan Henderson had a double for the Lancers (11-9).

Cougars stop Senators

CAMPBELLSBURG — Jake VonDielingen threw a three-hitter to lead Trinity Lutheran to an 8-2 win against West Washington in the West Washington Sectional semifinals.

Brayden Wilson went 3 for 3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs for the Cougars (15-9). Tyler Goecker also had two hits.

Trinity will play Orleans for the sectional title at 6 p.m. Monday.

Braves top Jets

Indian Creek spolied Hauser’s senior night with a 174-187 win at Clifty Creek.

Justin Compton led the Jets with a 43. Matt Sweet carded a 45, Ethan Wallace added a 49, Sam Johnson shot 50, Keagan Miller had a 53 and Justin Stafford and Justice Gilliland each shot 55.
