Senior Breakfast prelude to graduation

Jennings County High School seniors celebrated their last day of school on Tuesday with the annual Senior Breakfast, prior to practicing for graduation.

This breakfast included a cinnamon roll, fruit and eggs with ham. As part of the meal, a video commemorating the seniors was shown. It included memorials for students in the senior class who has died, senior superlatives and pictures from pep rallies and other school events.

Senior superlatives included ugliest car, most likely to be late to their own wedding, best couple and most friendly.

Following the Senior Breakfast, the pending graduates were taken to the auditorium to practice walking into the gym and finding their seats, before practicing walking across the stage.

During the practice, Evelyn McGuire was announced as valedictorian and Sarah Webster as salutatorian. Blaich Blanton, senior class president, also will have the privilege of giving a speech on graduation day.

The ceremony is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

While many students are excited to be graduating, others are saddened by it while others are still in disbelief that the day has nearly arrived.

The ceremony will be broadcast live in three counties on Cinergymetro and Comcast cable, and will be streamed live world-wide.
