Four Columbus natives have graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.
Andrew Baldwin, a 2014 graduate of Columbus North High School, double majored in philosophy and foreign languages (Arabic and French) with an environmental engineering minor.
Baldwin, the son of David and Theresa Baldwin, will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the regular Army as a military intelligence officer. His first assignment will be with the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade at Fort Gordon in Georgia.
Kian Geraghty, a 2014 graduate of Columbus East High School, majored in kinesiology with a civil engineering minor.
Geraghty, the son of David and Carol Geraghty, will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the regular Army as an infantry officer. His first assignment will be with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
Daniel Kotnik, a 2014 home-schooled graduate, majored in geography with an environmental engineering minor. Kotnik is the son of Joe and Janice Kotnik and will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the regular Army as an air defense artillery officer.
His first assignment will be with the 11th Air Defense Brigade at Fort Bliss in Texas.
James Michael Vogel, a 2014 Columbus North graduate, majored in mechanical engineering with an aeronautics minor. Vogel, the son of James and Brenda Vogel, will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the regular Army as an infantry officer, branch-detailed from military intelligence.
Vogel’s first assignment will be with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.
