Three Club Olympia swimmers spent much of Memorial Day Weekend at swim camps.
Nalanie Cortez was invited to the USA Swimming Central Zone Select Camp at the University of Cincinnati. The Zone Select camps serve as introductory level programming for elite athletes between the ages of 12 and 14.
Each of the four Zones in USA Swimming select 28 female and 28 male athletes to participate in a three-day swimming camp that touches on various aspects of competitive swimming, including technique, training and nutrition. Cortez was the youngest of the three Indiana female swimmers invited.
Cole Ehara and Misha Machavariani participated in Indiana Swimming’s Age Group Development Memorial Day Camp at Wabash College and Crawfordsville High School. That camp is open only to age group swimmers who have an age group state cut.
