Rondal W. Jump, 75, of Columbus, passed away July 13, 2018 at Willow Crossing Health and Rehab. Rondal was born November 3, 1942 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Theodore R. “Ted” Jump and Zelma L. Orsborne Jump. He married Carmelita A. Johnson on November 28, 1968.
Rondal was employed by Cummins for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Rondal served in the United States Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, First Baptist Church of Hope, and he enjoyed camping.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Kennedy officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Rondal is survived by his wife, Carmelita Jump; children, Cindy (Butch) Flint, Tammi (James) Turner, Sherri (Paul) Henderson and D.D. Stott (Darren Hinton); sister, Carol Shemwell; grandchildren, Earl, Jessica, Chris, Cody, Jeffrey, Ashley, Carl, Eve, Chris, Chelsea, Kyle, Adam, Chad, and Matthew; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two nieces, Rebekah (Ryan) Wheat and Sarah Meyer.
Rondal was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Justin O’Connell; great-grandson, Aaden Davis; and brother-in-law, David Shemwell.
