Club Olympia, Donner swimmers compete at Center Grove

Eighteen swimmers from Donner Swim Club and 10 from Club Olympia competed in Tuesday night’s Center Grove Aquatics Stars and Stripes 12-and-under Invitational.

In the 9-12-year-old boys division, Club Olympia’s Misha Machavariani finished second in the 50-yard butterfly, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke and third in the 50 freestyle. Aidan Castillo took seventh in the 200 individual medley, 16th in the 100 freestyle, 19th in the 50 breaststroke and 20th in the 50 backstroke. Jay Venugopal was 26th in the 50 butterfly, 38th in the 50 freestyle and 40th in the 50 backstroke. Misha Machavariani, Tony Machavariani and Castillo took sixth in both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

Donner’s Isaac Proffitt finished sixth in the in the 9-12 boys 100 backstroke, ninth in the 50 backstroke and 12th in the 100 freestyle. Conner Hoffman took sixth in the 100 breaststroke, 10th in the 50 breaststroke and 14th in the 100 freestyle. Brock Smith was sixth 200 IM, 11th in the 50 breaststroke and 15th in the 100 freestyle and 50 backstroke. Leo Guo finished 12th in the 9-12 boys 50 backstroke and 15th in the 50 breaststroke. That quartet took third in both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

For the 9-12 girls, Donner’s Ainsley Sherlock finished 10th in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. Sherlock, Cassidy Furnish, Mridula Muthukumaran and Abby Proffitt took sixth in the 200 medley relay; while Grier Lane, Cora Tregoining, Nicole Brault and Hannah Dean were 10th in the 200 freestyle relay. Danyel Roxbury, Sherlock, Muthukumaran and Proffitt were eighth in the 200 medley relay; and Brault, Connelly Furnish, Cassidy Furnish and Dean finished 11th in the 200 medley relay.

Club Olympia’s Daniella Preston finished second in the 9-12 girls 100 butterfly, third in the 100 backstroke, fifth in the 200 IM and 12th in the 100 freestyle. Nandini Kondhare, Preston, Jahnavi Venugopal and Lovely Panda took 11th in the 200 freestyle relay and 13th in the 200 medley relay. Panda was 53rd in the 50 butterfly, 61st in the 50 backstroke and 86th in the 50 freestyle. Advika Badve finished 56th in the 50 butterfly, 70th in the 50 backstroke and 87th in the 50 freestyle.

In the 8-and-under boys division, Club Olympia’s Tony Machavariani finished fourth in the 50 butterfly, fifth in the 50 backstroke, sixth in the 50 breaststroke and seventh in the 50 freestyle.

For 8-and-under girls, Donner’s Grier Lane finished second in the 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly. Jeannette Larsen took fifth in the 50 breaststroke and 50 butterfly, seventh in the 50 backstroke and 13th in the 50 freestyle.

Club Olympia’s Janhavi Venugopal finished second in the 8-and-under girls 25 breaststroke, third in the 50 breaststroke and sixth in the 25 freestyle. Kondhare took third in the 50 butterfly, fourth in the 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke and seventh in the 50 freestyle.

Club Olympia takes to the forest

Last weekend, Club Olympia swam in the Enchanted Forest Invitational at Forest Park in Noblesville and were led by a High Point Award victoriy from Nalanie Cortez.

Cortez won the 13-14 girls 50 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 400 IM and finished second in the 200 backstroke, fourth in the 100 backstroke, fifth in the 200 IM and 15th in the 100 breaststroke. Brady Beyer won the 13-14 boys 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 breaststroke and 200 backstroke and finished fourth in the 400 freestyle.

Misha Machavariani finished third in the 11-12 boys 100 butterfly, fifth in the 200 IM, sixth in the 50 butterfly, seventh in the 100 breaststroke, 12th in the 50 backstroke, 13th in the 100 freestyle and 16th in the 400 freestyle. Kondhare took fifth in the 8-and-under girls 200 IM, sixth in the 200 freestyle, eighth in the 100 breaststroke, 10th in the 100 freestyle, 11th in the 50 breaststroke, 12th in the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly and 15th in the 50 backstroke.

Maggie Johnson placed fourth in the 13-14 girls 200 butterfly, 13th in the 100 butterfly and 14th in the 400 IM. Ayush Panda was sixth in the boys open 400 freestyle, eighth in the 100 backstroke, ninth in the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle, 10th in the 100 freestyle and 14th in the 50 freestyle.

Jahnavi Venugopal finished sixth in the 8-and-under girls 100 breaststroke, seventh in the 50 breaststroke and 200 freestyle, 16th in the 100 freestyle and 20th in the 50 freeestyle and 50 backstroke. Joshua Pendleton took  sixth in the 8-and-under boys 200 freestyle, ninth in the 50 freestyle and 12th in the 50 backstroke.

Pratt Badve placed eighth in the 13-14 boys 100 backstroke and 200 breaststroke, ninth in the 200 backstroke, 10th in the 400 IM, 11th in the 100 breaststroke, 18th in the 200 IM and 19th in the 400 freestyle. Tony Machavariani was ninth in the 8-and-under boys 50 backstroke and 10th in the 50 freestyle.

Preston finished 10th in the 11-12 girls 50 backstroke, 18th in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM and 20th in the 200 freestyle. Hannah Manilef took 17th in the Open girls 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle and 19th in the 100 backstroke. Jay Venugopal was 17th in the 10-and-under boys 200 IM and 20th in the 200 freestyle.

Donner swims in Seymour

Donner sent 40 swimmers to last weekend’s Seymour Shields Supper Splash.

Sam Russell won the 15-and-over boys 400 freestyle, 400 IM, 200 breaststroke, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 200 IM and finished second in the 200 butterfly and 200 backstroke. Olivia Morlok won the 15-and-over girls 400 freestyle, 400 IM and 200 freestyle and finished third in the 200 butterfly and 13th in the 50 freestyle.

Ainsley Sherlock won the 9-10 girls 100 breaststroke and 200 IM and finished second in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle, fourth in the 50 freestyle and seventh in the 50 backstroke. Betsy King took second in the 15-and-over girls 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 200 IM and 100 butterfly, sixth in the 100 backstroke and seventh in the 50 freestyle.

Daniel Utterback finished third in the 13-14 boys 100 freestyle, fourth in the 1,500 freestyle, sixth in the 50 freestyle, eighth in the 100 butterfly, 11th in the 200 freestyle and 14th in the 200 IM. Paige Maddox took third in the 13-14 girls 1,500 freestyle, sixth in the 400 IM, 10th in the 200 backstroke and 14th in the 400 freestyle.

Christopher Lee placed fourth in the 15-and-over boys 100 freestyle and 200 IM, fifth in the 400 freestyle and 200 backstroke and seventh in the 400 IM, 100 backstroke, 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Ellie Proffitt was fifth in the 13-14 girls 100 butterfly, ninth in the 100 freestyle, 11th in the 50 freestyle and 15th in the 400 freestyle.

Cassidy Furnish finished fifth in the 9-10 girls 100 breaststroke and 16th in the 100 backstroke. Paige Sherlock took eighth in the 15-and-over girls 100 breaststroke, ninth in the 200 breaststroke, 14th in the 200 IM and 15th in the 100 freestyle.

Abby Proffitt placed eighth in the 9-10 girls 200 IM, ninth in the 200 freestyle, 12th in the 50 butterfly and 13th in the 50 freestyle. Michael Lee took eighth in the 15-and-over boys 100 backstroke and 15th in the 50 freestyle. Muthukumaran was eighth in the 9-10 girls 50 butterfly.

Roxbury finished 11th in the 9-10 girls 50 backstroke, 13th in the 200 IM and 16th in the 50 butterfly. Vaikhari Nalole took 11th in the 200 backstroke.

In the 11-12 boys division, Isaac Proffitt finished 11th in the 400 freestyle and 200 freestyle, 12th in the 100 backstroke and 15th in the 100 breaststroke. Smith took 12th in the 400 freestyle, 13th in the 200 freestyle and 15th in the 50 breaststroke. Guo was 13th in the 100 backstroke.

Connelly Furnish finished 14th in the 9-10 girls 100 breaststroke and 15th in the 200 freestyle. Sammi Hoolver took 14th in the 13-14 girls 200 breaststroke. Liam Phillips was 14th in the 13-14 boys 100 breaststroke and 16th in the 200 breaststroke. Nitya Garg finished 15th in the 9-10 girls 50 butterfly and 16th in the 200 freestyle.
