Youth claim victories at Columbus Youth Triathlon

William Raches, Karissa Bevis, Conner Schafer and Emma Small were the major winners in Saturday’s Columbus Youth Triathlon at Donner Park.

Raches won the boys 11-14 division in 23 minutes, 29 seconds, followed by Pratt Badve in 24:06 and Carter Howell in 24:15. Bevis took the girls 11-14 division in 25:12, followed by Charlotte Raches in 31:26 and Daniella Preston in 34:13.

Schafer captured the boys 6-10 division in 15:17, followed by Eduardo Aranda-Michel in 15:44 and Michael Reed in 17:05. Small won the girls 6-10 division in 15:36, followed by Caleigh Schotting in 16:05 and Allison Kolhouse in 16:29.

The 6-10-year-olds swam 100 meters, biked two miles and ran a half-mile. The 11-14-year-olds swam 200 meters, biked four miles and ran one mile.

Boys age group winners included Daniel Utterback (13-14) in 24:33, Angus Proctor (11-12) in 27:42, Will Howe (9-10) in 19:11, Joshua Pendleton (7-8) in 17:30 and Shreyan Kulkarni (6) in 19:40.

Girls age group winners were Kali Estep (11-12) in 36:22, Sanaa Kulkarni (9-10) in 17:50, Nandini Kondhare in 18:19 and Kenzie Schotting (6) in 22:03.
