Douglas and Teresa Essex of Hope are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. The couple celebrated with a week-long trip with family to Disney World where they had honeymooned.
Mr. Essex and his wife, the former Teresa Moore, were married July 15, 1978 at Newbern United Methodist Church by the Rev. Valen Capehart.
He is employed at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis.
She is employed at Millers Merry Manor in Hope.

They have five children, Bryce of Effingham, Illinois, Rachel, Benjamin, Thomas and Tammy, all of Hope; and four grandchildren.
