Columbus AirPark hopes to see more business growth

COLUMBUS, Ind. — City officials hope to attract new businesses to the Columbus AirPark starting next year under a plan that involves redeveloping 60 acres of land.

The airport is seeking to build an Aeroplex Commerce Center that would be targeted to light industrial businesses, airport director Brian Payne said.

The city took the first step Monday toward making the commerce center a reality after the Columbus Redevelopment Commission approved spending $18,350 to hire Indianapolis-based Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc., which will help prepare a subdivision plat for the project.
