Strand Associates Inc.has announced the promotion of Bill Hawkins, director of operations, to vice president of the engineering firm, effective Jan. 1.
Hawkins joined Strand in 1992 and has held multiple management positions in the Columbus office, including his most previous role as director of operations. He has experience in design, quality control, and construction of transportation projects for INDOT and local agencies.
A native of Columbus, Hawkins graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, and he is a licensed professional engineer in Indiana. He is an active member of the Society of Professional Engineers and the American Council of Engineering Companies.
He was project manager for projects on State Roads 62 and 421, both of which received an Indiana Partnership for Highway Quality Achievement Award.
