Ray Anderson, 68, of Columbus, passed away on February 19, 2019, in Greenwood.
Ray was born April 11, 1950, in Moss, Tennessee, the son of Roby Blair and America Etta Jenkins Anderson.
He married Cheri Hauck on May 22, 1976.
Ray had a career in sales. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and was well known for his home run hitting power. He also enjoyed bowling and playing golf at which he also excelled. Ray was proud to volunteer and carry on the legacy that his parents started at the America and Roby Anderson Community Center. Most of all, Ray loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, sons and granddaughters.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday February 25, 2019, at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Edwards officiating. Calling will be from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family for an after funeral meal at the America and Roby Anderson Community Center following the services.

Survivors include his wife, Cheri Hauck Anderson; sons, Jason Anderson of Columbus and Kevin (Kara) Anderson of Trafalgar; grandchildren, Arden, Amelia, and Kairi Anderson; brothers, Robert (Madonna) Anderson of Indianapolis, Arthur (Betty) Anderson of Columbus and Tony (Brenda) Anderson of Columbus; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and James Anderson; as well as two sisters Linda Lynn and Kathy Humphreys.
