The Columbus Broomball League will wrap up today with the semifinals and finals at Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena.
Top-seeded Monsters of Rock will play No. 4-seed CCA Kutters at 4:30 p.m., followed by No. 2 seed The Rockpile facing No. 3-seed Our Name Is Earl at 5:30 p.m. The third-place game will be at 6:30 p.m. and the championship at 7:30 p.m.
Monsters of Rock, which won the regular-season title with an 11-0-1 record, won its first-round game by forfeit against Yoopers.
The Rockpile edged Slappin’ Balls 4-3. Tyler Houchin scored two goals, and Ellie Lutz and Amanda Stewart each added one for Rockpile. Darien Castetter had all three goals for Slappin’ Balls.
Our Name Is Earl beat Toyota Tsunamis 5-1 behind two goals apiece from Ryan Ingalls and Darren Eckerty and one from Tom Kareus. Jimmy Robertson netted the goal for Tsunamis.
Tyler Douthitt scored the game-tying goal with 11 seconds left in regulation and the game winner about a minute into overtime to give CCA Kutters a 3-2 win against Hansons. Jacob Hollingsworth had the other goal for Kutters. John Lane and Rahul Bhardwaj scored for Hansons.
