Letter: Think about how you judge others

From: Pat Walkos

Columbus

This letter is in response to Shirley Todd’s letter to the editor of March 17. Due to The Republic newspaper’s new guidelines, I could not immediately respond to the letter regarding my disappointment in the good people of the Methodist Church and their unwillingness to marry people of the same sex.

Nowhere in my letter was abortion or Washington, D.C., mentioned. I think that the letter writer has another ax to grind. I know that my original letter was a bit simplistic, but that was my intention.

The Bible can be read every day, and I am sure that there are many "thou shalt nots" that are not followed by those who are so entrenched in it.

I feel that I could certainly say that most honorable people would admit that children being brought up by two loving parents (same sex or not) are far better off than no parents at all!

In Matthew 7 (KJV) it says, "And judge not and you will not be judged."
