Amazing Grace Gospel — Worship services are at 10:30 a.m., with an evening mass at 6:30 p.m., led by Pastor Tom Deane.

Bible study is every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and there is an open mic night every Friday at 6:30 p.m. Bring songs and instruments and praise the lord.

The church is located at 2611 Central Ave., Suite 2, Columbus, adjacent to Amazing Joe’s restaurant and next to the All State Insurance Building.

Dayspring Church Apostolic — Worship begins at 11:15 a.m. at the church, 2127 Doctors Park Drive, Columbus. On Sunday, the church will be inspired by “You Can’t Keep A Good Man Down.” This is taken from Micah 5:2 and Colossians 1:15-19, where, “…the image of the invisible God.”

Every visitor receives a free gift.

The Sunday Education Session starts at 10 a.m. and covers “Remember The True Gospel,” as shared in Galatians 1:6-9 and Matthew 28:1-7.

Bible Study is at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday and takes a deep dive on the message from the previous Sunday.

We will be in a special study, “My Father Is A Carpenter.” This study is “Bible Apologetics, Lite.” Was Jesus “Liar, Lunatic or Lord?” Participants have their questions answered and receive a free book to prepare us for Easter. Please attend to register.

Prayer of Power starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and is preceded with requests and instructions on prayer. The Celebrate Recovery session starts at 6:30 p.m. for about an hour.

Ignite is the Youth Growth Session that happens every third Friday.

Eckankar of Southern Indiana — The public is welcome to attend a spiritual discussion meeting, “The Principles of Eckankar” from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The topic for discussion for the April meeting will be “Understanding Dreams.”

The meetings will focus on an aspect of Eckankar and will feature readings from the books of Eckankar with group discussions of the spiritual principles at work in everyone’s lives.

The Spiritual Discussion group meets the third Sunday of each month at 1:30 p.m. unless there is an occasional schedule conflict then a new date will be posted. The meeting is at 7850 W. Goeller Blvd., located in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus building.

Fairlawn Presbyterian — Join us for worship beginning at 9:30 a.m. led by the Rev. Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, followed by fellowship time.

Easter service is April 21 and features the message “Seek the Living,” with Scripture from Isaiah 65:17-25 and Luke 24:1-12. Services times are 7:30 and 9:30 a.m., with a breakfast at 8:15.

The April 28 service will focus on Psalm 150 and John 20:19-31.

The Second Hour Christian Nurture study is at 11 a.m., and currently offers “Pausing on the Road to Jerusalem” throughout Lent.

Child care is available during Sunday services and second hour studies.

A men’s breakfast is 7:30 a.m. the second Saturday of every month for men of all ages.

The Last Fridays Bluegrass event is 7:30 p.m. the last Friday of every month. All are welcome to bring an instrument and play along or simply enjoy the music.

Collections and donations for Love Chapel are: cereal in April, peanut butter and jelly in May and canned fruit in June.

The church will be assembling kits for a Presbyterian disaster relief project after worship May 5. This is an opportunity to contribute items for hygiene kits and assemble them. The kits provide practical help for those recovering from a tornado, flood, hurricane or other disaster.

First Presbyterian — At 7 a.m. on Sunday there will be a Sunrise Service at the church loggia, 512 Seventh St., Columbus. The scripture will be Luke 24:1-12 and the sermon will be “Why are you looking here?” At 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., identical communion services will focus on Matthew 28:1-10, with a sermon titled “Come and Go,” with the adult choir leading us in worship. The deacons will prepare our annual Easter brunch at 10 a.m. in between the two services.

Infant and toddler care is available from 9:15 a.m. to noon Sunday.

The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. Fridays, and a second men’s support group of working-age men meets every Monday at 6:15 a.m.

People in need of a meal are invited to Hot Meals, offered 5 p.m. Friday, with entry through the glass doors on Franklin Street.

The church is LGBTQ-friendly, open and affirming to all.

First United Methodist — On Easter, this Sunday at 7 a.m., there will be a sunrise service in the green space across the street (Ninth Street) from the church. In case of inclement weather, the sunrise service will be held in the church chapel. Following that, there will be a breakfast in Fellowship Hall at 7:30 a.m.

On Sunday at the 9 a.m. Traditional Service and the 11 a.m. Celebration Service, Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “Living as Easter People in a Lenten World,” at the church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus. The scripture will be Luke 24:1-12. There will be no Sunday school. Child care is available during both services.

Flintwood Wesleyan — This Sunday is Easter Sunday, and there will be an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Anyone who didn’t preregister can do so at 9:15 a.m.

The 9 and 11 a.m. East Sunday service will be led by Rev. Wes Jones, senior pastor, at 5300 E. 25th St., Columbus. There will be a time of fellowship between the two services with coffee and donuts. Sunday School and evening activities are dismissed.

The small group Bible study, “In The Beginning…,” will resume at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in The Friendship Center. It is studying the book of Genesis.

Wednesday activities begin with supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by GLOW at 6:15 p.m. The Prayer Team meets at 6:15 p.m. in the Prayer Room. Youths meet at 6:30 p.m. and adult Bible study meets at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

On Thursdays, Cub Scout Pack 588 will meet when events are scheduled and Boy Scout Troop 588 will meet at 7 p.m.

At 8 a.m. April 27 is a “Man Up” men’s breakfast at Blackerby’s Hangar 5 Restaurant.

Garden City Church of Christ — A three-week series starts on Easter Sunday at 10 a.m. The theme for April 21 will be “Love That Forgives Our Sin.” The theme for April 28 will be “Love that Conquers Death.” The theme for May 5 will be “Love That Makes All Things New.”

Pastor Brian Gilroy is the lead minister and Pastor Brian Graves is the family life minister.

From 6:30 to 8 p.m., on Mondays through May 13, the small group “Hope Beyond Today” is starting at the church. This group has been developed by those who lost loved ones and hopes to provide hurting people with practical ways to deal with their pain as a result of their life-changing loss. Contact the church or sign up at the welcome center in the church.

Old Union United Church of Christ — Join at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday for an Easter Sunday sunrise service. Easter morning Sunday service is at 10 a.m. Sunday school is at 9 a.m., followed by fellowship at 9:40 a.m. Pastor Kirby Rupp will deliver the message, “Now, That Is Good News,” with readings from Acts 10:34-43; Psalm 118: 1-2, 14-24; and Matthew 28:1-10. The message of these readings are, “Alleluia! He is risen!”

Wednesday Bible study resumes at 6 p.m.

There will be a breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

St. Paul Lutheran — A 30-minute Easter sunrise devotional service will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday in the chapel led by Pastor Doug Bauman with the theme Mistaken Identity based on John 20: 1-18.

Festival Easter Services with Holy Communion will be held Sunday in the church at 8 and 10:45 a.m. with the theme of Pastor Doug Bauman’s sermon, “The Answer is Yes,” with scripture reading from Luke 24: 1-12. Children will process before each service with Alleluia banners. Easter breakfast will be served in the Fellowship Room from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Christian education classes will not meet on Easter.

The Hispanic Easter Service will be held in the chapel at 10:45 a.m. conducted by Pastor Jeff Patterson.

Petersville United Methodist — At the 9 a.m. worship service on Easter Sunday, the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will deliver the message “When Hope Brings Joy.” Scriptures from Luke 24:1-12 will be shared by liturgist Patsy Harris at the church, located at 2781 N. County Road 500E, Columbus. Special music will be provided by the choir, and Teresa Covert will give the children’s sermon. All loose coins received during each Sunday’s offering through the month of June will go to Love Chapel.

Prior to the 9 a.m. service, an Easter Sunrise service will begin at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast provided by the United Methodist Men and Women. The congregation is encouraged to bring flowers to help celebrate the risen Lord and to welcome Spring. Flowers should be in the church fellowship hall by 8:40 a.m. Easter Sunday morning.

The Baker’s Dozen study group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the home of Larry and Connie Nolting. The Journey study class also meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Chris Kimerling’s home. New members are always welcome to both classes.

The “Sit ‘n Stitch” group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Nolting home. Choir practice is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and the Prayer Group, led by Barb Hedrick, will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church. The United Methodist Women’s group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday night at the church.

On April 28, following the 9 a.m. worship service, there will be a pitch-in-brunch followed by discussion on the Fruitful Congregation Journey “Envision 101.” The FCJ Discipleship Plan, C — Connect, W — Worship, C — Commit, S — Serve, will be the main topics discussed. All members and friends of the Petersville congregation are urged to attend this event.

Unitarian Universalist — At 10 a.m. Sunday, the service message, “All Ages Earth Day and Easter Service: Blue Boat Home,” will be given by Nancy Olson in which the church will celebrate the rebirth that spring brings and the power of honoring the earth.

Westside Community — At 10 a.m. Sunday, Pastor Dennis Aud will lead the service on Easter Sunday at the church, at State Road 46 West and Tipton Lakes Boulevard, Columbus. Pastor Aud will be presenting his message, “Because He Lives,” from John 20:19-31.

The children’s program for birth through sixth grade meets at the same time as the 10 a.m. worship service. This Sunday the elementary students will join their parents in worship.

Pastor Dennis will lead a four-week follow-up video series titled “A Case for Easter,” featuring Lee Strobel. This study will be on Wednesday nights from 7 to 8 p.m., April 24 through May 15.

Westport Christian — Westport Christian Church will be hosting an “EGG”stravaganza for southern Decatur County at the Westport Community Park at 10 a.m. today. This event is open for toddlers through sixth grade. This will be a time filled with games, prizes and story time.

Wilson Chapel Christian Union — The church presents Robert Rogers Mighty In The Land Ministries. Guest speaker Robert Rogers will also share in a time of praise and worship through music. Come to the pitch-in after the service with desserts and beverages.

Events

Flintwood Wesleyan — The open market will begin at 8:30 a.m. May 4. The market will be the first Saturday of each month May through October. Local artisans will be set up plus food booths and produce booths. If you are interested in renting a booth contact Kim Rutan in the church office.

The annual fish fry event is May 18.

First United Methodist — At 7 p.m. April 26, FUMC, as part of the Fridays@First series, will present the Schumann Piano Concert, featuring the renowned pianist Vijay Venkatesh.

At 7 p.m. May 31, FUMC will present Dr. David K. Lamb on the Organ.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and both concerts are free and open to the public.

From 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 2 and May 3, FUMC will host the 54th annual Smorgasbord. Adult tickets are $12 in advance, $14 at the door; children 5-10 years old are $5 in advance, $6 at the door; children 4 and under are free.

Lowell General Baptist — There will be a Revival starting at 7 p.m. on April 29. Brother Roger Poynter from Glasgow Kentucky will be the visiting preacher.

There is a hymn sing at 7 p.m. May 4. Judith Montgomery and Family from Shoals Indiana will be the featured singers.

Garden City Church of Christ — At 6:30 p.m. May 28, Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda presents “We Will Go.” This concert is free and open to the public.

Watoto Children’s Choir has traveled extensively since 1994, sharing a message of hope for Africa’s most vulnerable children and women. On almost every day of the year, the choir is performing somewhere in the world.
