Orchids to …

• Emily Fleetwood for taking the time out of her busy schedule to mow my yard every week, from Grandma Snyder.

• whoever found my phone and wallet in Lowe’s and turned it in to customer service.

• the two ladies at Kohl’s — one was a customer, the other an employee — on Tuesday afternoon for helping me up when I stepped down and couldn’t get up again, from Susan L.

• the honest patron of JayC Westhill who returned my tote tub full of food items after I had a senior moment on Saturday afternoon and forgot to put it in my car.

• for Peggy W. who works so hard on the flowers outside of the All Saints apartment and Peggy S. for our flag

• every single one of our volunteers from Turning Point Domestic Violence Services, because we could not do what we do without you.

• Columbus Area Arts Council for producing programming in our community that is diverse, inclusive and nationally-relevant.

• our neighbor on Cottage Avenue for their beautiful yard, because you inspired us to try to make ours pretty, from your neighbors.

• the talented, hardworking St. Peter’s Drama Club students, their families, Mrs. Sollenberger and Bryce Eckelman for a wonderful job in putting on the play “Missing Dorothy.”

• to my husband, Chris, for all that he does for me and our cats, my therapist for all the help she has given me, and all the kind people who work in her office, as well as many thanks to our pastors for all their support, from Steph.

• Jackie and Dave Pardick for all the work they do to make the Hardin reunion wonderful, and to Dave Pardick for planting and nourishing pots of flowers for all the ladies at he reunion.

• the person at Musillami’s drive-in who bought my meal Tuesday.

• the kind person who turned in my cane at Dollar General Wednesday.

• The Republic on the Thought for Today in Wednesday’s paper from William Randolph Hearst about people who are content with stagnation and willing to endure disaster.

Onions to …

• the state of Indiana and its contractors for a safety record that’s chalked up several fatalities in the construction zone of I-65 since the road widening project started.

• anyone who softens the term “Christian” with “Easter worshipers.”

• those that think abortion is a Democrat or Republican political issue because there are Democrats who are anti-abortion and Republicans who’ve had abortions.
