CAP Adult prom sets record $88,000

The Seventh Annual Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Adult Prom on April 27 created a bit of a royal stir by generating a record $88,000 to boost child abuse prevention programs offered by the local nonprofit Family Service Inc.

By monetary votes, Brad Sanders was named prom king and Christine Nesci was selected as queen at the sold out gathering of more than 600 people at The Commons in downtown Columbus. Actually, the event has sold out for the past three years, according to organizers.

They often have promoted the event as a way for people to relive the joy of their high school prom, or to make a better memory than years ago. Many of the couples who attend make a romantic night of it, with semi-formal or formal wear, food and dancing.
