East graduate named tournament MVP
Sam Claycamp was named MVP of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament after leading Franklin College to the title and an NCAA Division III Tournament berth with a 9-8 win Sunday at top-seeded Rose-Hulman.
Claycamp, a senior shortstop from Columbus East, went 2 for 4 with two RBIs in the title game. He had a two-run single in the fourth and scored three runs.
The NCAA Tournament selection show begins at noon today and will be streamed on ncaa.com.
