Around Town – October 1

Orchids to …

• Bartholomew County REMC for restoring power even quicker than estimated during Saturday’s electrical outage on a very hot day.

• Dr. Forbes for being very caring and calling to check on me after surgery on Wednesday morning.

• Gary and Marilyn Cheek for the breakfast and supper on Sunday, from John Tinkey.

• Congressional Democrats who are fighting to save our great country.

• those who know that free speech by any citizen is a fundamental right and is not defined by the U.S. Constitution as “treason.”

• Kelley, a nurse in the emergency room, for finding my daughter’s dog and taking her home with her so I could pick her up.

• for the gentleman who works so hard making the landscape beautiful around Flintwood Wesleyan Church.

Onions to …

• those who would believe anything that a Trump-hating anonymous whistleblower might say.

• anyone who refuses to acknowledge that Obama nearly destroyed this country.

• the VP for having children wait on him for an hour for his five-minute speech and for him to get a photo op with students.

• neighbors unable to perceive a parallel between radio pledges and communist China’s social credit system.

• our clueless representatives who think that election meddling help from the Russians and now Ukraine is not a serious threat to our country.

• the person on Woodland Parkway who was mowing his dusty leaves into the street during the Marathon and giving the neighborhood a bad name.

• anyone who feels they were ignored the eight years Barrack Obama was president because he was truly everyone’s president.

• the illogical reasoning of the onion writer who thinks that the Democrats in media caused the irreparable damage to the confidence of world leaders.

• Senators who declare impeachment proceedings a power grab before even reading the transcript from the telephone call or the whistleblower.

• school officials for not notifying parents that the vice president was coming to the school.

• the marathon runner yelling obscenities in our quiet neighborhood.

• those who put their political prejudices above their patriotism to the U.S. Constitution, the laws of our country and the integrity of our institutions.

• those who run the race through the downtown area.

• the people who take care of the food for the festival in Hope.

• the marathon organizers for an event that cuts off and blocks off streets and intersections through town.

• narcissistic, abusive parents who leave their kids emotional wrecks and then laugh about it.

• the Orchid writer for saying the Trump administration is staying focused when the headline news is that the Trump allies are in disarray.

• people who continue to whine and complain about being inconvenienced one day of the year.

• the person who thinks train operators operate irresponsibly.

Happy Birthday to …

• Kaushik Goon, from your family, co-workers and Donna.
