Around Town – November 14

Orchids to …

• Dr. Benjamin, for making my feet feel better!

• President Trump for my 401k increase — you rock!

• the school board for making the right choice to support teachers and students by closing schools so teachers can attend the Red for Ed rally on Nov. 19th.

• the endoscopy department admissions and staff at Columbus Regional Hospital for a warm, professional and courteous services during my procedure today, and special kudos to surgeon Dr. Dorenbusch and his OR staff.

• BCSC Superintendent Jim Roberts, for his support on closing BCSC on Nov. 19 and the BCSC staff members for their efforts to participate in the Red for Ed action day.

• Erin at the Kroger pharmacy for recovering my pictures.

• Linda Clark, at First Financial Bank, for always being so helpful and kind, from Judy Wood.

• Donna Johnson, for the fantastic, great homemade diner on Tuesday night, I really appreciate it and it was good to see you.

• the wonderful, kind young man who helped me put air in my tires with enough quarters.

• the two ladies who helped me look for my car at Sam’s Club.

• Jason and his crew at Advantage Heating and Air, for the great fireplace, from Eris.

Onions to …

• the person complaining about teachers protesting during a school day for not understanding the plight of teachers in the nation, especially in Indiana.

• all the bicycle riders that ride out by Simmons Winery and take up half the road — it is going to come to a point of me getting hit head-on or a biker in the ditch.

• the outlet mall that hasn’t flown the U.S. flag since its name change.

• teachers using children to force an issue.

• people showing our children to protest to get what you want.

• the letter writer for thinking a tax would really help climate change

• taxing everything so much people can’t afford it, i.e., fuel and ammunition.

• the local hospital help line that has not called back or answered for three days to help a patient sign on.

• the anti-Crumpers — many community members would much rather their hard earned tax dollars be spent on repairing a local historic theater, which would bring visitors to Columbus, rather than a useless riverside project.

• teachers who are attending a rally, forcing schools to close.

• those who refuse to have their job performance evaluated and refuse to learn how to do a better job, but still demand to be paid more.

• those who seem to think tractors require license plates.

• the hamburger shop off National Road — you put in your order, wait for 30 minutes and still don’t get it, having to get a refund, I’m never going back.

• politicians taking up TV time on the impeachment of Trump — if you don’t like him, vote him out.

• immigrants of the DACA program who refuse to apply for U.S. citizenship.

Happy Birthday to …
