• all the staff, cooks and nurses at Silver Oaks for the wonderful Thanksgiving buffet prepared and served to its residents and guests on Sunday.

• for Keegan at the east side Walmart store– you made an “old lady’s” day, I smiled all the way home.

• the Rev. Timothy Streeval.

• Nathan Patrick from Comfort Professionals for coming out on a Sunday morning to diagnose and fix our furnace, he was prompt, professional and gave honest advice for how we should best care and maintain our HVAC system.

• Ali Bergman for teaching and presenting to first graders at Smith how to better brush their teeth.

• former U.S. ambassador Marie Yovanovitch for displaying true integrity and patriotism for putting her service to and love of the U.S. above all else.

• the Rev. Harry Isbell on his really great article.

• private and charter schools which are an asset to students and the community.

• the manager at CVS, National Road, for going out of his way to find the weekly planner calendar I wanted — much appreciated!

Onions to …

• a varsity coach at a banquet who could only spout stats and didn’t have anything personal to say about seniors who’d played for four years or more.

• an administration that attacks a witness on social media in the midst of testifying as a way to intimidate a witness.

• an administration that has another close ally convicted of lying to investigators and facing 50 years in prison for their role the 2016 election.

• the school corporation for the huge disparity between teachers’ salaries and administrators’ salaries.

• the organization hosting a free educational event for diabetic patients and offering lots of cookies for refreshments.

• Democrat CEOs preaching leftist political climate crisis idealism.

• abusing teaching positions to protest wages that teachers agreed to.

• superintendents who should be held accountable for their high salaries and wasteful spending.

• the person driving a pickup truck with a big Confederate flag.

• people who leave their pets outside in cold weather; they are supposed to be part of the family, so just don’t get a pet if you can’t afford it or raise it in a good loving home.

• landlords who allow multiple families to live in their single family dwellings.

• semi truck use of County Road 325W to bypass town.

• those who don’t realize The Crump was never a cinema palace, such as the Paramount in Anderson.

• those who don’t realize visitors leave when they discover there isn’t much parking near The Crump.

• those who don’t realize that if you did away with your $100-a-month cell plan and $200-a-month cable bill you might find time to read a book or two.

• those who have forgotten Nixon was impeached for weaponizing parts of the government against his political enemies.

• the president for calling honorable men and women who serve the country terrible names.

• a local school district for encouraging employees to get their specialty medicines from a source that is not FDA-regulated.

• obtuse people who don’t know or won’t acknowledge that the President Trump did supply weapons to Ukraine for defense, while Obama sent only blankets.

• the person who wanted even more gravel on Hillcrest Road when we already had a very well-kept blacktop road — now it’s nothing but loose gravel.

• the proposed school social media policy that infringes on the constitutional rights of the people.
