Onions to …

• the person comparing Social Security and Medicaid to socialism.

• the uninformed individual who doesn’t realize that most Social Security recipients paid into Social Security for 40 to 50 years in order to draw their benefits and the amount we receive is based on what we paid in.

• those who obviously do not know how Social Security and Medicare is funded or how it works.

• the person who did not learn in school that citizens and their employers paid for Social Security and Medicare, and once you are on Medicare you often still pay for it.

• the people who complain about the president because you need some joy in your life.

• the insincere president and his sudden interest in troops and sporting events when he had no such interest in his first three years in office.

• those that are surprised that some letter writers are very partisan in their writings when at the very top of that newspaper page in large bold type it says “opinion.”

• the school administration for trying to justify the raises they gave administration staff who are already making six figures when teachers that have been there for years are barely making $40,000.

• the school administration for wondering why they can’t keep teachers and teaching assistants while they are living lives of luxury and creating jobs out of thin air for allies to make better salaries.

• those who aren’t aware of the Daniel Patrick Moynihan quote “you are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.”

• the good ol’ boy process that leads to the mayor’s donors getting all the lucrative contracts at our expense.

• the school administration for stating that they want to pay all employees as much as they can when teachers and support staff make less than most in surrounding counties and administration staff is making more than surrounding counties.

• the congressman bragging that he is supporting veterans when the current administration continues to raise the generic medication from $0 during Obama administration with the current administration now projecting $86 for nonformulary.

• the mobile home park for the recent increase in rent, which is the third in the last two years, a 10% total increase.

• the local gym that will not repair the sound on their TVs.

• people on Flintwood Drive that park on both sides of the street on the curb, creating a dangerous situation.

• the people who on Sunday afternoon park in the post office parking lot, and when I go in, there’s no one in there but the parking lot is full.

• the U.S. senator for parroting Putin’s talking points.
