The second annual Dancing With the Stars Columbus Style fundraiser drew hundreds of spectators and raked in $50,000 for Children, Inc. and Family School Partners.

1995

As part of a nationwide program commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II, military officials recognized Cummins Engine Co. for its contribution of expertise, personnel and materials to the Allied cause during the war, including several thousand diesel engines to power trucks, boats and generators for the Army and Navy.

A number of Columbus stores that sold General Electric appliances were called upon by union representatives and told their stores might be picketed in an effort to persuade customers from buying products made by the strike-bound GE.
