Students may apply for page program

Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour, is encouraging local students interested in state government to participate in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2020 legislative session.

Students age 13 to 18 can spend a day at the Statehouse in Indianapolis assisting House legislators and staff and tour the governor’s office, the Indiana Supreme Court and the House and Senate chambers. It is also an opportunity to watch the legislative process including debates about new laws.

Student pages receive an excused absence from school and groups may participate together. Students are responsible for their own lunch expenses and transportation to and from the Statehouse. Opportunities to serve as pages are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, until the end of the session, which is March 14

For more information or to sign up, visit IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/pageprogram or call 800-382-9841. Openings for the page program are limited, so students are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
