Panthers edge Stars

SEYMOUR — Jennings County advanced to the sectional finals for the first time since 2014 with a 44-43 semifinal win against Bedford North Lawrence.

The Panthers (13-11) led 28-22 at halftime, but the Stars rallied to take a 35-32 lead after three quarters. Jennings then outscored Bedford 12-8 in the final period to take the victory.

Aaron Martin led Jennings with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Jacob Vogel and Keegan Manowitz each added nine points.

The Panthers will play Floyd Central in tonight’s final at Seymour.

Cougars move to final

GREENSBURG — Class 2A No. 6 South Decatur advanced to tonight’s North Decatur Sectional final with a 76-63 win against Triton Central.

The Cougars (23-2) led 33-25 at halftime and 54-39 after three quarters.

Hunter Johnson led South Decatur with 30 points. Lane Lauderbaugh added 24, and Dominic Walters had 10.

The Cougars will play host North Decatur in the final at 7:30 p.m. today.

Tigers top Lancers

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh was within 31-29 midway through the third quarter, but Crothersville pulled away for a 58-49 win in the semifinals of the Edinburgh Sectional.

Travis Jones led the Lancers (6-18) with 13 points. Caleb Dewey scored 12, and Isaac Roberts added 11.

Braves oust Eagles

ELLETTSVILLE — Brown County saw its season come to an end with a 56-41 loss to Brownstown Central in the semifinals of the Edgewood Sectional.

The Eagles finish 5-18.
