City chipper and yard waste program begins

The city of Columbus will begin its chipper and yard waste program on Monday.

Yard waste toters and small piles of stacked brush will be collected the same day as city residents’ trash collection. Toters/brush must be stacked curbside by 7 a.m.

If you are new to composting, a “Toter” brand yard waste toter can be purchased from Lowe’s Home Improvements on 10th Street.

Also keep in mind an armful of sticks/twigs can also go in the brown trash toter each week. No limbs or anything woody should go in the yard waste toter.

Brown trash toters cannot be used for yard waste or recyclables. Recycling toters cannot be used for yard waste or trash.
