A contract that covered teachers, administrators and support staff eliminated health insurance for some spouses and discontinued gastric bypass surgery coverage and was unanimously approved by Bartholomew Consolidated School Board.

Columbus’ shrinking workforce caused a number of businesses to look to other locales to fill job openings.

General clean up and the building of public restrooms began at the site of the future Heflen Park along Driftwood River north of Columbus on land donated by Carl Heflen, a German Township farmer.
