Corbalou and Lyman Snyder of Edinburgh received an Outstanding Restoration Award from Indiana Landmarks for their restoration of the Thompson House, built in 1867 in Edinburgh.

Bartholomew County 4-H Fair opened a nine-day run with unlimited midway rides for $10 per person.

Signs limiting parking to two-hour periods were installed on streets near factories, including Cummins Engine Co., Arvin Industries and Golden Foundry, to prevent employees from parking all day on public streets in areas where space was needed by residents.
