Exhibit Columbus’ next event will be a virtual one because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anne Surak, Exhibit Columbus’ executive director, announced the decision Monday.

Dates are still being confirmed for online discussions and gatherings, but are expected to be from about mid-September through early October, Surak said.

The last symposium in 2018, which featured such high-profile speakers as filmmaker Eric Saarinen and landscape architect Susan Saarinen, children of noted architect Eero Saarinen, drew an estimated 1,200 people over four days, topping the 2016 year’s symposium’s attendance by about 200 people.

Surak said details will begin to be released in the coming weeks about scheduled presentations. She said that she and other organizers hope that the number of people viewing and participating in the event can be as great as in the past.
