Signal project to begin Monday in Taylorsville

TAYLORSVILLE — A traffic signal modernization project is scheduled to begin Monday at the intersection of U.S. 31 and County Road 550N. in Taylorsville. The $94,000 contract includes replacing existing signals with five-section heads, in addition to new cables, railroad pavement markings and traffic signs.

Temporary lane closures and intermittent stoppages will be in place as needed for overhead work. The contract was awarded to The Hoosier Company Inc. in May and is expected to be complete by the end of September, weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. All work is weather dependent.
