State: 897 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said 897 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the state laboratory, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 94,196 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 3,077 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of five from the previous day. Another 219 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 1,076,947 tests for unique individuals have been reported to ISDH, up from 1,065,356 on Sunday.

Bartholomew County reported 1,062 positive tests (up 12) with 54 deaths (no change).

  • Jackson County: 699 positive cases (up three) with nine deaths (up one).
  • Jennings County: 269 positive cases (up two) with 12 deaths (no change).
  • Decatur County: 399 positive cases (up one) with 35 deaths (no change).
  • Shelby County: 619 positive cases (up one) with 28 deaths (no change).
  • Johnson County: 2,034 positive cases (up 10) with 121 deaths (no change).
  • Brown County: 89 positive cases with two deaths (no change).
