Exhibit Columbus symposium returns

Iñaki Alday PAULA BURCH

The online 2020 Exhibit Columbus symposium returns today with presentations on the topic "Resiliency and Climate Adaptation" — and the role of design in shaping the future of cities to be more resilient and adaptable to the environment.

The Conversation will be livestreamed on the Facebook page for Exhibit Columbus at 2 p.m. Iñaki Alday, founding partner of Aldayjover Architecture and Landscape, and dean of the Tulane University School of Architecture, together with renowned landscape architect and MacArthur Fellow Kate Orff, founding principal of SCAPE, will reflect on how their new “new-model” practices are responding to the climate crisis, and how future-oriented ecological strategies will serve middle cities moving forward.

Thursday’s Columbus Conversation at noon will explore these ideas through the lens of the local community. J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize recipients Belinda Tato and Jose Luis Vallejo of Ecosistema Urbano will join Rachel Kavathe of Loci Creative and Heather Pope, Jason Larrison, and Randy Royer of the Columbus Riverfront Project to discuss Columbus’ past and future relationship with its own ecology.
