COLUMBUS, Ind. — After careful consideration, COVID-19 pandemic concerns, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department has canceled “Pack-a-Patrol Car.”
The event is an annual food drive to benefit area food pantries.
“It took us a long time to come to this conclusion,” said Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Maj. Chris Lane. “We have struggled with this decision since June when the Sheriff’s Youth Academy was cancelled,” Lane said.
Sheriff Matt Myers encourages residents to donate directly to Love Chapel Food Pantry, 311 Center St., and the Salvation Army, 2525 Illinois St.
BCSO hopes to resume this event in 2021.
