Columbus East Olympians won their seventh straight Hoosier Hill Conference title and their 28th straight Hoosier Hills game, beating Bedford North Lawrence 35-13, and Columbus North Bull Dogs won their Conference Indiana game, clobbering Southport 56-14

1995

After six consecutive years as a runner-up, Columbus Parks and Recreation Department was named a Grand Award Winner among cities with up to 50,000 in population by the National Recreation and Park Association, only the second time in 30 years an Indiana parks department received the prestigious honor.

Columbus Jaycees opened a “Do Something” campaign to develop to promote volunteerism.
