Darryl “Buck” and Carolyn Imlay of Hartsville are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary by taking a family vacation this fall to one of their favorite destinations, Holden Beach, North Carolina.

Mr. Imlay and the former Carolyn Lee were married Nov. 5, 1960, at Clifford United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hubert Walker. They also renewed their wedding vows oceanside, as Pastor Reggie Rushing of the Holden Beach Chapel solemnized the celebration.

Mr. Imlay opened his own barber shop in the town of Hope in the Spring of 1962 and enjoyed barbering for 38 years. He also worked for Arvin Meritor in Columbus and retired in February of 2004 with 26 years of service.

Mrs. Imlay enjoyed working several years for Mills Pharmacy and Clouse’s IGA market in Hope before she began her career with Irwin Union Bank. She retired from the bank in January of 2008 after 30 years of service.
