The Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation is celebrating its 65th anniversary with a donation drive.
“Without a doubt, 2020 has proven to be a very challenging year for our students and teachers,” BCSF executive director Suzi Bruin said in an announcement about the fund drive. “Education has taken many twists and turns for all of us as a community.”
The foundation has supported teachers, students and families in this time, and these groups will require continued support this winter.
To help meet these needs, the foundation is seeking 65 “BCSF Stars” by midnight Tuesday night. A “star” is a one-time donation of $240 or a commitment of $20 per month for one year. Individuals can commit to sponsor more than one star. As of Monday afternoon, donors had committed to 31 stars, according to BCSF community development coordinator Jess Schnepp.
Schnepp said that all donations received from now until midnight Tuesday night will count toward a 1:1 matching grant from the Landmark Farm Foundation. BCSF hopes to raise $15,600 and have it matched for a total of $31,200.
“We know this year has been challenging for so many,” she added. “We appreciate any amount they are able and willing to donate.”
Donations of any amount can be made by going to www.bcsfstars.org and clicking on the “Help Now!” tab or by sending checks to BCSF, 1200 Central Ave., Columbus, IN 47201. Monthly commitments for any amount can be made through the website.
“With your support, BCSF can continue to help students learn wherever they are, help teachers get necessary supplies for students in need and fulfill any other needs that arise,” Schnepp stated. “Together, we can make navigating this new world easier and set them up for success!”
