COLUMBUS
A loving and proud mother, Patricia Ruth Neal, age 82 of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She was born to the late Porter and Hazel Crockett on April 17, 1938. On May 28, 1957 she married her high school sweetheart Prentice “Cooper” Neal. They remained best friends upon his death on April 1, 2013.
Patricia was employed at Cummins, Inc; where she was hired in 1976. Patricia started her Cummins journey as an Office Employee in the Engine Business in Columbus. In 1989, Patricia transitioned into the Safety/Security Function, where she stayed for over 15 years. On February 28, 2005 Patricia retired as a respected First-Class Officer after she devoted 29 years of service.
Patricia was a compassionate free spirit who loved family, reading and appreciated fine art. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Patricia was also a long-time member of the Elizabethtown Christian Church.
Survivors include her three daughters, Kimberly Herman, (Scott) Kathryn Yeager, (Kevin) and Victoria Baker (Randy); grandchildren, Dylan Yeager (Alyssa), Taylor Baker, Zane Yeager and Matison Baker; three great grandchildren, Graesyn Cooper Steinkoenig, Prentice Ruby Chambers and Rowan Shea Yeager, as well as two siblings Glenda Ashburn of Knoxville, Tennessee and Shirley Hobbs of Dayton Ohio.
A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana.
