COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Curtis Ray Morrison Jr. 83, of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 12:13 a.m. Friday, December 25, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Curt was born June 13, 1937, in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Curtis R. Morrison Sr. and Ruth E. West Morrison. On August 10, 1974, Curt married Verna K. Biggs; she survives. They met at a ballroom dance studio in Lafayette where Curt was a part-time instructor.

Curt graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette and later attended Franklin College and Howard College in Birmingham, Alabama.

His working career included food industry, radio sales and jewelry sales and repair. Mr. Morrison was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Community Church of Columbus.

Curt was a kind and loving man with a passion for his Bible, dogs and bowling. He happily bowled a perfect game in his life. Curt was instrumental in starting up the high school bowling program in southeastern Indiana. He coordinated all the matches and helped at the state tournament for a number of years. Curt was a great mentor to the students and their coaches alike.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Verna; son, Kevin Morrison Sr. of Gulf Breeze, Florida; grandson, Kevin (Karin) Morrison Jr. of Auburn Hills, Michigan; granddaughters, Karen Morrison of Plainfield, Indiana, Maria (Jody) Glaze of Plainfield, Indiana, Sergeant Katelynn Morrison, stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and Kira Morrison of Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Quinn Morrison of Auburn Hills, Michigan and DeeDee Glaze, Eowyn Glaze and Jadon Glaze of Plainfield, Indiana.

Curt was preceded in death by his father, Curtis R. Morrison Sr. June 17, 1994; mother, Ruth E. Morrison July 21, 1996; and his son, Craig Morrison August 9, 2010.

In keeping with Curt’s wishes, cremation is planned, there will be no funeral service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Spring Vale Cemetery in Lafayette, Indiana.
