
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 4,028 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 500,282 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 7,703 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 164 from the previous day. Another 348 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,613,675 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,605,669 on Monday. A total of 5,585,093 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
The Indiana Department of Health will offer free COVID-19 testing at the locations below on the following schedule this week: Today, Wednesday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bartholomew County reported 5,331 positive tests (up 34) with 84 deaths (up five) as of Tuesday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 3,693 positive cases (up 17) with 43 deaths (up one).
- Jennings County: 1,676 positive cases (up nine) with 29 deaths (up one).
- Decatur County: 2,066 positive cases (up nine) with 72 deaths (up one).
- Shelby County: 3,283 positive cases (up 30) with 72 deaths (up two).
- Johnson County: 11,760 positive cases (up 148) with 231 deaths (up eight).
- Brown County: 702 positive cases (up seven) with eight deaths (no change).
