Lorene Hornback Zuch, age 87, went to her heavenly home on December 28, 2020, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma and a short struggle with COVID-19. On October 2, 1933, she was born in Columbus, Indiana, to the Rev. Arthur R. and Helen Edell Hornback. Lorene attended God’s Bible School and Wilmington College and completed Lay Counseling Certification. She was devoted to her family and her Country and was committed to serving God by serving others. She taught Sunday School, counseled callers to the Suicide Prevention Help Line, and volunteered at a Pregnancy Crisis Center and The Healing Rooms of Columbus, IN. She was a licensed Real Estate Agent, was a substitute teacher, and she also worked as a Precinct Chairman for the Republican Party and as a Poll Worker. Lorene loved to read, bake, and sew, but she loved to pray most of all. All who knew her knew that she would be happy to pray with them and for them at any time. She especially loved to pray for her family: her beloved children: Jeanice (Gerald) Reed, Janna Zuch, Joni (James) Kerr, and Brenton (Lynn) Zuch, her cherished grandchildren: Jeremy (Leslie) Reed, Jessica Reed, Coleman Lanham, Haley Zuch, and Amanda Zuch, greatgrandchildren: Corban Simms, Eva Reed, Jamie Beimesche, Killian Larkin, Jane Reed, and Trula Eberhard, her dear brothers: Milburn (Marilyn) Hornback and David (Charlotte) Hornback, her beloved late sister, Ruth McCoy and late brother Ray Hornback and her many nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19, a funeral service will be held at Tufts, Schidmeyer Family Funeral Home in Loveland, Ohio, Saturday, January 2, 2021. A graveside service will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Wednesday, January 6, 2021, will be limited to family and will observe COVID-19 safety protocol.
