Martha Ann Daniel Demaree, passed from this life Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Scottsdale, Arizona. After courageously battling cancer throughout 2020, Martha contracted the Covid-19 virus and succumbed while in the hospital surrounded with love by her family. Martha was born on May 18, 1961 in Columbus, Indiana to William K. and L. Ann Daniel, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Delmar (Trip) Demaree, their 3 sons, Jack Demaree (Amber Vaugier), Adam Demaree (Lauren) and Sam Demaree (Jordan), and grandchildren, Zoe and Christopher and a second grandson due in February. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda Johnson, Karin Frye, Susan Schmeissing and William K. Daniel II (Dan), 12 nieces and nephews and a growing number of great-nieces and nephews. She was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Martha graduated from Columbus North High School in 1979 and Indiana University in 1983. At IU Martha studied business and enjoyed her membership in Delta Delta Delta Sorority, where she made special lifelong friends. Following her graduation from IU, Martha went to work for Delta Airlines as a flight attendant. Martha and Trip married in 1985 and moved to Carmel, Indiana, where their 3 sons were born. In 1993 they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and she became active in her sons’ schools and their sports activities and outside interests. She continued to enjoy travel and her family and developed a special flair for spectacular celebrations and entertaining. Martha will be known and remembered for her generous spirit, her love of family and the way she made everyone she knew feel special and loved.
A private memorial service will be held at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Bill Schmeissing officiating.
Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery alongside her parents and grandparents.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
