COLUMBUS
Lynda Vogel, 69, passed away Wednesday January 13 at St. Francis Hospital South Campus. She was born August 20, 1951 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to parents, Floyd and Ellen Louise Thompson.
Lynda was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. She enjoyed photography, fishing, trap shooting, and writing poetry. She worked for Vogel Brothers Corporation where she met her husband, David Vogel. They were married on June 2, 2001.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband, David; her two children, Michele Baker and James Jones; her grandsons, David Jo “DJ” Boston and Brian Jimenez; her sister, Judy (Bill) Duncan; and two brothers, Arthur Thompson and Christopher (Helen) Thompson.
A Funeral Service for Lynda will be held Tuesday, January 19 at 11 a.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 pm. Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. In keeping with Lynda’s wishes, cremation will take place.
Memorial donations in Lynda’s name may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
In keeping with Indiana and CDC regulations, social distancing guidelines must be followed and masks are required. You may be asked to wait outside the funeral home for a short time to accommodate the CDC’s requirements.
