Lawrence “Deno” Dailey, 71, of Hope, died at 2:20 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope, Indiana.

Dean was retired from Cummins Engine Company after 32 years.

He was born October 23, 1949 and was the son of Homer and Dorothy Heilman Dailey. He married Sheila Janes of Hope on December 20, 1986, and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Dorothy Dailey; a brother, Francis Dailey; and a sister, Berniece Dailey.

Survivors include one brother, Ed Dailey (Diana) of Hope; one sister, Ruth Huntsman of Cadiz, Kentucky; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many healthcare workers that have taken care of him over the past six years.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Columbus. Dean loved fishing, camping, dancing, and bingo, and was an avid fan of the Hauser Jets, attending as many sports as possible. He was also a fan of NASCAR racing.

There will be a private burial at Hawcreek Cemetery and a Celebration of Life at a later date.
