COLUMBUS
Lanny R. Green, 63, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:33 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Green was born October 28, 1957, in Columbus, the son of Elmer L. and Silby Smith Green.
Lanny retired from Cosco after 20 years of service.
He was of the Baptist faith, an outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a jack-of-all-trades.
Survivors include his sons, Steven R. (Danielle) Green of Mitchell and Joseph A. (Holly) Green of Westmoreland, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; companion of 17 years, Bernice Fields of Columbus; a brother, Danny (Juanita) Green of Elizabethtown and a sister, Jackie (Larry) Fields of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife, Dianne Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Rick Leonard officiating.
Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to time of service.

We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
In keeping with the families wishes cremation is planned.
