COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Shirley Faye Smith, 76, of Columbus, passed away Friday February 26, 2021 at her home. She was born January 25, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio and has been a resident of Columbus for most of her life. She married Eugene Smith, the father of her three children, on October 7, 1963 and they were married for 16 years.
Shirley was currently employed at Richardson Molding for the past 31 years. She enjoyed shopping and was a huge gift giver. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of her family. She enjoyed flowers and her pets.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday March 3, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Carrigan officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Litter Box Kitty Rescue through the funeral home.
Shirley is survived by her children, John Eugene Smith, of Columbus, Regina (Roger) Baker, of Columbus and Lisa Dianne Smith of Greenwood; grandchildren, Ashley Nichols, Kayla Baker and Justin Baker; great grandchildren, Reese Nichols, Madeline Cheatham and Haelynn Baker.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John D. and Jallie (McIntosh) Barger and a brother, John David Barger.
