COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Margaret A. Voelz, 83, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Mrs. Voelz was born December 28, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Verle A. and Esther F. Rose Niles. Margaret married Maurice D. Hughes and later married Robert Lynn Voelz November 12, 1988; he preceded her in death May 21, 2016.
Mrs. Voelz was a 1956 graduate of Bloomington High School. A homemaker and wonderful mother, Mrs. Voelz worked for the phone company right out of high school and she was a wedding planner for many years. She enjoyed participating in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts with her children. She was involved in various community service organizations and some of her hobbies included ice skating, swimming, bowling and playing bridge.
Mrs. Voelz is survived by her daughters, Julia (Monte) Dillon of Mooresville, Indiana and Lisa (Scott) Saddler of Columbus; grandsons, Parker (Raeanne) Saddler of Columbus, Preston Saddler of Columbus and Jack Dillon of Mooresville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Susie Janes of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Voelz was preceded in death by her parents, Verle and Esther Niles; her husband, Robert Voelz; son, Jeff Hughes; and four siblings.
In keeping with Mrs. Voelz’s wishes, cremation is planned. There will be no services.
